Access to plant genetic resources is fundamental the development of more resilient and nutritious crops. The efficient effective conservation therefore key ensuring global food security. There are than 1750 genebanks around world, storing various types germplasm including tissue cultures, seeds, embryos pollen. This chapter describes some recent applications science technology improve management genebank collections orthodox not least through introduction automation. In addition, looks at how routine cryopreservation procedures now possible for many species, storage recalcitrant-seeded vegetatively propagated species continue evolve given challenges they present in terms long term ex situ conservation.
